St. Joseph’s   HSS  kodenchery,  established  in  the  year  1954, is  one  of  the most  prestigious   institutions  under  the  Corporate  Educational  Agency  of  Thamarassery  Diocese.  It provides a cutting edge academic programme with state-of-the art infrastructure and facilities.  When  the  school  started  functioning  in   1950  we  had  only Primary section. In 1954 the school was upgraded   as  high  school. As  years  passed  SJHSS   was  progressed  by  leaps  and  bounds . The school was  upgraded   as  higher Secondary  school in 2000. 

Marching  ahead  on  the  road  to  success,  today  we  stand  magnificently  outstanding  in  academic  and  co-curricular  activities  and  has  over 3000 students  and 100 staff members  with  primary  , high  school    and  higher  secondary  section functioning  under  three  heads. Our   school  is  located  at  about  40 kilometers  from  the  Calicut  town.  SJHSS is in an idyllic setting; two sprawling campuses amidst hills and fields,fine weather and a natural, pollution-free atmosphere satisfy a crucial need in today’s world for students to be able to learn, observe, introspect and contemplate in a most desirable environment.Our  school  provides  an   oxyrich , calm  and  serene  atmosphere  for  the  learning  process. It  is  a pioneering  institution  which  imparts  education  with  the  intention  of  intellectual, emotional, spiritual  and  physical  formation  of  the  students. Basking about our glory in sports and games we can proudly say that our school is enhancing our athletes to be equipped themselves to compete even at the national level.

Performing  such  a stupendous  task  ever since   our  beginning,  today   our  school  has  become  a  benchmark  of  excellence in  academic  and  extracurricular  activities.St.Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, which began with lots of hopes and dreams sixty two years ago, is now well entrenched in the educational landscape of Kerala. But it has not been without a lot of hard work. We have crossed each bridge when we came to it. We have taken the challenges head-on and we look back with quite pride on what we have achieved.
